Clinic consultations on beard transplantation are on the rise lately for several reasons. On one hand, many men would like to be able to grow a beard for aesthetic reasons or to hide cosmetic defects (cleft lip, burns or acne scars). On the other hand, current techniques allow obtaining natural and definitive results. Finally, in some cultures the beard is a necessary element.

FUE technique in the Beard transplant

The beard transplant is performed with the FUE technique, with which the follicular units are extracted one by one from the donor area (usually the posterior region of the head). The number of follicular units to extract will depend on the extension and the density to be obtained. The grafts must be of 1 or 2 hairs maximum and the incisions must be tangential with a correct angle and direction.

The implanted hair usually falls from 2 weeks and begins its growth from the third month. The transplanted grafts are permanent and the results are excellent.
